I have a rare Circadian Rhythm Sleep Disorder(CRSD): Free-Running Type, commonly called non-24.  Basically my body refuses to adjust to a 24 hour wake/sleep cycle.  Instead I seem to function on an apx 27 hour wake/sleep cycle.  It, combined with my depression and anxiety, has made it impossible to hold down any sort of real job. It also takes a major toll on my social life, since I can't plan things with friends more than a few days in advance, and even then, we have to plan things around when I'm likely to be awake.  It really sucks.

There are three other CRSD's commonly called "Morning Lark Syndrome" for those who wake up very early and go to sleep very early, "Night Owl Syndrome" for those who go to sleep very late and wake up very late and one whose name I've forgotten where there is basically no consistent pattern to one's wake/sleep cycle.

Lot's of people prefer to either wake up early or go to sleep late, but can, when necessary, wake up and go to sleep on a socially acceptable schedule for school or work.  It's a true CRSD when no matter how hard you try or what drugs you take, you simply can't change your wake/sleep cycle to fit in with the rest of society.

So... does anyone else out there have this problem?
